The devil is in the details. Will this be a "real" extension, or a "soft" extension, like the kind Tim Brewster received, that actually makes it easier to buy out or dismiss a coach?

Granted, I think most fans are feeling better about the program in the wake of the post-season play, but another 6-12 performance in the conference season, and the good feeling will be out the window. We've all seen pro athletes have big seasons when they're playing for a contract, then become complacent once the money is guaranteed. I just hope that Tubby doesn't get complacent if he thinks that his position at the U is secure. I like the thought of a coach knowing that he has to produce results to keep his job.

Also, with several assistant coaches apparently testing the waters for other jobs, it will be VERY interesting to see what happens with the staff. I wouldn't mind seeing a little shakeup on that front.
 


I had thought Kaler said that he just wouldn't do the extension during the season, nice to see that now during the off season it is happening.
