Shooter Now: Gophers AD Joel Maturi 'not having any fun'

"I love my job... But I'm not having any fun."

Maturi is such a tool. I really hope Kaler tells him to take a hike.

Since you guys have so much input as to how Maturi can do a better job I suggest you submit your resume once the new President is in office. I'm sure your vast knowledge and experience in athletic administration will put you straight to the top of the candidate list. Ugh.

For the 340,000 grand ( or close to it ) that Maturi makes I would appreciate it if you could point me to the sign up sheet.

Maturi

If your not having fun then quit, because we certainly aren"t having any fun watching you try to do your "guilty until proven innocent" approach to being an athletic director at a major learning center. And isn't that the key Joel; this is a "learning" center.

Great logic. I guess that means that public figures can almost never be subject to criticism. When Bush made mistake after mistake and people complained, I guess everyone should've just submitted their resumes to be President. I suppose coaches and players can never be criticized either unless the people making comments are more qualified.

Poor little old Joel. It's so tough being an AD at one of the biggest schools in the country. Great programs like Auburn and Oregon are always coming after your basketball coach and you're powerless to do anything about it. You try and counter with a contract extension, but those can take months or years to complete! It's so tough. It's certainly no fun. You have $3 million to hire a football coach, you dither and bumble the search and everyone gets upset and yells at you. It's no fun.

Good lord. Do everyone involved a favor and at least announce that you will retire when your contract is up. At least if we know there is an end in sight we can just move and hope you can go 18 months without screwing anything else up.
