Shooter Now: Gophers AD Joel Maturi 'not having any fun'

That is old news. Maturi said that this summer. If he loves his job, but is not having any fun and he is in his mid 60's; I have an idea for him...RETIRE.

What do you think it was like for us fans sitting in the stands, Joel?

Really, for your sake and health (mental included) - and everyone else's - just step aside already.
 


God, Joel, quit setting yourself up. You might as well go hiking in the woods during deer hunting season wearing a pair of reindeer antlers. (And I generally support you)

I agree, now he's gotten himself into another fine mess with the women's golf issue...another law suit/settlement that will cost the U millions. I don't know how he keeps his job.
 

I don't really think we have much to worry about. Kill is probably going to work out great but its going to be despite Joel. However, the mess with the golf program is going to bury him. From what I have heard Joel and only Joel pushed for the hire of Harris even though he was warned by many parties it would not be a good hire. I would expect the new President to see Joel for what he is and do one of two things. Can him before his contract is up or make the rest of his time here that of a figure head only. The less decision making Joel is involved in the better. Its not his strength.
 

Joel, do everyone (including yourself) a favor and step down. The football coach has been hired, he's either going to work out or he isn't. Nothing more Joel can do at this point but meddle.
 



Hey...I loved every job I ever had prior to retiring. It was the people I worked with that pi$$ed me off.
 

Its amazing the different standards you get with a non profit institution.
In the real world, Maturi would have been fired long ago.
