Shooter: NFL teams keeping eye on Gophers QB Adam Weber

Shooter is a moron. How does he even keep his job.

I don't see how this is laughable. Weber fought through an unbelievable amount of adversity through his entire career and loss after loss he still talked to the media after every game and put the blame on his shoulders. He learned four different playbooks. He played through almost nonexistent pass blocking in 2009.

Weber has character and intelligence. You can't teach those two traits. Mechanics can be taught and tweaked. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I don't see how he can't become a competent scout team guy with the right setting.

I see him as a NFL tryout but never get into a preseason game kind of guy.

He does have a very strong arm, but his mechanics need some work and he has trouble getting through his progressions at the college level (and that doesn't get easier as one moves up a level). He has all the intangibles and I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a shot in an NFL camp next spring. After that, it'll boil down to his performance.

If you have a strong arm, teams are likely to give you a long look...scouts get boners over big arms...

If ignorance was currency.... some of you would be millionaires. At worst, Adam will find himself on someones practice squad next season. I could write a paragraph or two explaining why this is the case but what's the use, some folks minds is closed to rational conversation.

Weber throwing 5-10 yard passes is kind of like Miles Tarver shooting free throws. Sometimes it's fine, other times it's inexplicably not even close. That is the first problem he'll need to correct.

Then again...some of us have EYES...

I don't think anyone expects him to start in the NFL next year, but I believe he'll make a roster and probably get drafted. He's got the physical tools. It's just a matter of putting it together. Anyone who has played football knows that having four playbooks in four years makes it next to impossible to be successful...especially at quarterback. From my personal experience, it takes a year in the system to get comfortable where you are not thinking on every play. When you think, you get beat. Year two is when things slow down.
