Beth Understands that campaigning openly for the job is not the "Minnesota" way.

If she really wants to be the permanent AD, she needs to do the best job she can of running the department, and everything else will fall into place.

For her it's less of a candidacy and more of an audition. If she can impress in the interim (the regents/pres, not the fans), I could see her getting the job. If she doesn't do well enough, she will simply not become an "official candidate".
