Shooter: 600 tix remain; bowl reps from Outback and Citrus Bowls will attend

Maybe it's really called the "Orlando Capital One Citrus Bowl at Credit Card Field (What's in Your Wallet)" and we don't know it...

With two of the best teams in the B1G it would be surprising if those Bowl Reps weren't at the game. Oh, cut Charley some slack. The Capital One Bowl is played at Citrus Bowl Stadium.

It's confusing.

It's frustrating that the U doesn't do a better job steering STHs away from creating situations with single tickets scattered throughout the stadium. Hard to sell 1 ticket, most people come with a significant other, family member, or friend. I don't think 100+ single empty seats wil be visible during the game (nor would it matter), but it's unfortunate.

I agree RailBaronYarr about the single tickets, but I bet if one purchased two or three singles you could find a place to sit together (many folks will be at the beer garden/west end).

Can someone explain to me what bowl officials need to attend these games in person? How exactly does it help them make their decisions about what teams to select. Sounds basically like getting an all-expense-paid trip to see some college football. My guess is they won't be sitting in the cold, either.

They must be looking at all the intangibles that bely the teams' record. Jerry Kill and the left for dead Gophers IMHO is becoming a huge national story already. I know it is an uphill fight against the remaining top two and three teams in the B1G. Can you imagine how much bigger it will get if they keep winning?

"Need" to attend is probably over stating it, but I think that they like the opportunity to talk to athletic directors and other personnel in person. It also gives them a chance to get a sense from the fans how excited they are about the team and the season and try to inform their guess as to how well the fans might travel to their game. You could certainly get a lot of that through phone calls and watching on TV, but there is a feel to a live event that you can't totally duplicate.

I think fan support is big. Thats something that these bowl games consider is, who's going to bring us the most fans.

If there's no excitement for the team in their home stadium, how could they count on the fan base to travel well to a bowl game?
