Shama: Gopher basketball season tickets are down about 1,000 vs last year

University of Minnesota nonstudent season tickets for both men’s basketball and men’s hockey are down by about 1,000 each from a year ago. As of last week, basketball was at 6,246 compared with 7,221 for the 2015-2016 season. The hockey number was 6,039 after totaling 7,080 in 2015-2016.

Perhaps..but I don't think Coyle will have to do anything to get attendance back.. I think just letting Pitino develop and mature will grow attendance as I think his teams will start winning consistently. I think football is going to really be where he focuses as the ceiling on the football coach is not as high as the hoops coach.
