I'd be a fan of this move.

One advantage Minnesota has over Colorado is no state law limiting contracts to 5 yrs. Coaches signing 7-10 yr deals all over.

As long as I'm feeling punchy....here's one for the Twitter rumor mill. I'm hearing Tad Boyle's name bandied about for Minnesota.

Not real familiar with him, but saw this on his Wikipedia page

Tad was named the 18th coach in University of Colorado men's basketball history on April 19, 2010. "This is it (my dream job), there's no doubt," Boyle said after being named head coach. "I remember talking with Mark Turgeon once when he asked me where I wanted to be in 10 years, and I said the head coach at the University of Colorado. This is a destination job. I'm humbled and honored." [8]

Don't know much about him, but Colorado has had recent success. I can't ever remember them making a tournament prior to the last 2 years.

Why the hell did Colorado hire him in the first place. Oh yeah out there he "was one of us!"

Henry Iba is the most legendary coach CU has ever had. But he only stuck around for one season before moving from beautiful Boulder to Stillwater, Okla.

Boyle, the first coach to lead the Buffs to three consecutive postseason appearances and 20-win seasons, isn't going to make the same mistake twice.

After winning a state championship at Greeley Central, Boyle left Colorado to play at Kansas.

They are going broke and have horrible facilities. Could give us a leg up.

I'd be a fan of this move.

Hopefully Tad does not have a son that coaches too...Norwood is laying down the law...not in my house!

Would Tad Boyle be a slam dunk hire, or more like Jerry Kill?

He also turned down UCLA.

Tad Boyle wasn't going to UCLA.

There was never really anything for Buffs fans to worry about.

But the Bruins put their minds at ease by announcing Saturday that Steve Alford, who recently agreed to a 10-year contract extension at New Mexico, is the next head coach of the Pac-12's most storied program.

Most coaches aren't a-holish enough to take a job within their conference.

I'd be pretty shocked if he was interested, if so, good hire.

Was always on my would be nice but not gonna happen list because he is from Colorado.

Would like the hire, and we're probably at least a marginally better job, or at the very least not a worse one. Also, his Buffaloes seem to show steady improvement, unlike Tubby's Gophers. Unfortunately, he seems pretty happy in Colorado. Unlikely we get him.

I'm not sold on a head coach with the first name Tad.

I think he's just using it as leverage to get a raise out of Colorado.

Well, you would probably go for a coach by the name of Jack Mehoff?

A name means nothing. After all, for God knows how many years the Vikings had a coach by the name of Harry Peter Grant.
