2. Saturday is the final home game for a number of players. Prior to the game, the Gophers will honor 24 players who will be playing in their final home game at TCF Bank Stadium. Minnesota will recognize seniors Michael Amaefula, Cole Banham, Alex Bisch, Cameron Botticelli, David Cobb, Christian Eldred, Zac Epping, Isaac Fruechte, Drew Goodger, Logan Hutton, Marcus Jones, Donnell Kirkwood, Harold Legania, Marek Lenkiewicz, Grayson Levine, Tommy Olson, Ben Perry, Dave Ramlet, Cedric Thompson, Derrick Wells, Damien Wilson and Devon Wright. Redshirt juniors Luke McAvoy and Kyle McAvoy will also be playing in their final home game at TCF Bank Stadium and will partake in the pregame festivities.

Solid senior class, tough to replace 6 or 7 of them.

That's an impressive list. Only a few have little in-game impact, and some have been showing up on special teams. Many thought the loss of Brock and Ra'Shede would hurt, but our secondary and D line have held up well. As talented as this senior class is, I think we can all be optimistic that those taking their places can help us get to the next level.

Another reason to go to this game. Some of these guys were bricks in the foundation.

This class has shown serious testicular fortitude and put in alot of hard work for the program.
Ski U Mah gentlemen!

Not just a reason to go to the game - a reason to get there early to salute these guys as they are introduced.

Good call Jike!

Any idea why the McAvoy twins would not return for their senior years? Have they both struggled with injuries?

I would guess, and it is only a guess, that they have their degrees and have no wish to pursue a masters degree. It is obvious they are never going to see the field so why hang around.

Thank you diefirma. This has been a great group of seniors and tough to replace. I hope they all have as much fun on Saturday as we have watching them.

Tough to replace 6 or 7 on field, but even the others made an open decision to run uphill both ways and try to fix a broken culture. Respect all around and if there is any honor out there those boys should find it easy landing good jobs.

They can go anywhere they want for graduate school.

If they stayed here for a fifth year on scholarship they could go to graduate school for free. If they went some where they most likely would be paying for it. I don't believe Minnesota is obligated either legally or ethically to give them a fifth year. Why would they want to tie up two scholarships for another year when they could be used for new recruits are deserving walk-ons?

I meant no disrespect, you are right.

I watched the DVR of the game more slowly yesterday and looked more closely at the last quarter. It was great to see Ben Perry, Harold Legania, and Grayson Levine get extensive playing time in a B10 game. It was even better to see that FR and RS F were getting the rest of the mop up time.

#25 Devon Wright, a RB that never made an impact on offense also has made a difference on kick coverage all year, including a great tackle at the 4 YL vs Iowa.

Kick coverage has been really impressive, even more so when you factor in that maybe their best coverage guy was lost when Rallis went down.

And for the second straight home game the PA credited his tackle to Payton Jordahl. At least this time he corrected himself and gave Wright some credit.

Does that mean we have two extra scholies available for 2015?

Most of these players have been through a lot. They are either 5th year seniors that are the last Brewster recruits in the program, or part of Kill's first makeshift class that he had to pull together quickly. All things considered, there are some really good players in this class that will be hard to replace. Glad that all of these guys were able to stick through the tough times and now get to experience a final year that is rewarding.

My Minnesota hat's off to all of them!

Best of luck in all your future endeavors - you have done our school proud!
