I loved the sections and plan to stay there this year. I don't really feel like I missed out on anything as a lot of the best moments of the year happened right in front of us such as Tripplet's fumble return...it is great to be right there when the players are celebrating. It is definitely not the usual "TV view" with a great view of the formations, but personnally I like having a view/experience more unique to being at the game.
The next section over (148) had a much more lively crowd, however during the November games they were in the shade whereas 149 was still in the sun which made a big difference. There was almost no wind in those sections either since they are set a little lower and glare from the sun was a non-issue.
As far as the big scoreboard you can't really expect to watch much of it since you need to turn completely around. However, those sections have an awesome view of the other scoreboard which is honestly way bigger than the dome's and not full of ads cutting down the screen size like the large one. If I wanted to see stats at any point I could still just briefly turn around and look at those on the big screen.
One downside is the lack of bathrooms, easy entry gates, and concessions. The two entry gates by the open end are (from my observations) the busiest due to their proximity to campus. There is only one very tiny men's bathroom in the lower open part, located right next to the gate entrance, and it always packed because everyone who spent so long waiting in line to get in needs to pee like a racehorse by that point.
As a sidenote if being on TV is at all a difference maker in your decision because it is so close to the goalposts you will be on there a lot and you will be in great position to tell if a fieldgoal was missed before everyone else.
I hope this helps!
