Seantrel #1 in nation

I personally think it is amazing that of all the kids in the 2010 class, across all 50 states, that the #1 prospect by many experts is from the great state of Minnesota. Even if he goes elsewhere (and I REALLY don't want him to!!) and has tremendous success and plays in the league, it's good to know that such a great talent came out of this great state.

i have read that he is still growing,, and if he is a legit 6'8" right now, what would happen if he does end up 6'10". would he be a better basketball prospect at that height?

Or maybe just the biggest baddest offensive lineman ever?

Tom Lemming also called Henderson as the guy he thought was tops in the 2010 class, and that was around a year ago.

Joe Mauer was called the top recruit in the nation by some when he graduated (was that around 2000?) So this could be two guys from Minnesota (from Cretin, none the less) in 10 years who have been the top prospects in the country for their grade.

He is not focusing on Basketbal. I've seen him play and his shot is something of someone that lifts a lot a weights. I don't think he is legit 6'8" He is athletic enough to play BB if it was his focus. Most of the CDH basketball kids play just to stay in shape for football.

If he is 7 feet he becomes Shaq JR. He couldn't play pro football at 7 feet, could he.

I've seen Seantrel play b'ball a number of times this year. Seems to me he's still growing into his body and he remembers what he used to be able to do on the court when he was smaller and faster. As a result, he tries to do things that somebody with his size and build can't do very well. At other times he remembers what somebody of his size and build can do on the court and while it might not be pretty, it's effective.

He also handled himself (and his teammates) extremely well when CDH hosted Hopkins for basketball. He held his head high and was very classy during a game that was tough on the ego of a program that has had a lot of success.

One thing to bear in mind: he's had the spotlight focused on him for a long time and at a pretty young age. It's a challenge for adults and older teens to handle that kind of attention -- let alone a kid who started getting a lot of attention as a HS freshman. I understand he's done a fairly decent job of handling it ... I hope he's able to continue to do so.

According to another thread he couldn't possibly be any good becuase he's from Minnesota. rivals and scout should correct this over sight soon.

[Insert gross mischaracterization of views espoused therein here.]

The thread is there for all to read. I'm sure they can make up their own minds.

OK, show me once where I even remotely insinuated "from Minnesota = bad football player".

I guess I was referring to the thread more so thatn you that suggests we should not be looking towards the state but elsewhere.

It's called an inference. To state something is black means it is not white. To say something is good means it is not bad. To say one thing is better is to say another is worse. The truth is that the best talent needs to come frome where ever it is, but the rest should be preferential to local, because they are a known commodity, have a stronger payback in terms of goodwill, and as I stated to contrast the sentiment your thread posed our local athletes are grossly under rated. IMHO

I read he was going to be in Madison for junior day on March 7th. Maybe we will get an early commit from him.
