Why spend a considerable amount of time developing a "long bench" just to slow the game down in the second half in a "prevent offense" with an eight point lead?
I'm not trying to be coy here, I don't see the benefit of the strategy and question the coach who employs the technique!
The LaSalle game is just the latest example. The gophs had a reasonably comfortable lead, LaSalle had lost their legs for the highlight dunks and Tubby sends the guys into the prevent offense. Isn't that the exact situation to use the fresh legs - to run the other team off the floor?
