@ScoutMinnesota - Shannon offered job?

Not buying it. Fun to see Bronko on that site.

Yeah, I miss Bronko. Part of me thinks he's Wahoo, but there are just way too many ridiculous pics and stuff posted by Wahoo for me to think he's Bronko.

I find this hard to believe if fedora nad june jones are the other names mentioned. Please let it not be shannon-he was canned for a reason.

hey frothy what'd you say your twitter name is?

My only intent for posting that was to get some sort of response regarding who/what that twitter feed is

That twitter feed just generates traffic to the Scout website by posting thread titles. I wouldn't put any stock into it.

I do like Shannon though, top 5 on my list.

Ha. @FrothyGopher

Saw it. Tweeted. Went to Scout, saw time it was posted (10 AM this morning) and promptly deleted the tweet.

ok i'm going to ignore it from now on.

I actually like Shannon for his defensive background. I like the pirate, and lots of the offensive minded candidtates, but I would literally kill to watch the maroon and gold play some serious D.

Same. I actually like Shannon. Worst case scenario he's a quality dude who is a qualified coach who can see us through until we have a capable new Prexy and AD on board.

Shannon wouldn't be up there on my list, but I mentioned on another thread what Holtz said about him when he was fired - basically that you can make a lot of mistakes in your first head coaching job so don't judge a guy just on that.

Whether it's Shannon or someone else, I wish the guys on here were more open to looking beyond the obvious. I know there are some women that when you look at them the first time you don't really notice anything special, but the more you look the more you see a truly beautiful woman who is just not flashy.

I'll take the crazy hot chick, Thank You.

I think in the end if we end up with Shannon I won't be exstatic but I think we can do worse. He could come here and do well in a laid back fan base with much less pressure than Miami. But I still want Leach then Calhoun

Dude, we're all going to get behind whoever is hired. Well, most of us will. But we're all going to see what Leach does somewhere else and wonder if we made a terrible mistake by not even talking to the guy. That's what I'm afraid of.

(Ir)regardless, I'm here for the long haul and mentally preparing myself for another 50 years of mediocrity. At which point, death will be welcome.

I actually wouldn't be surprised if Shannon was hired if he gave strong consideration into keeping Jeff Horton around. He doesn't seem to have a super strong allegience to his OC (he just hired a new guy) and he likes a pro style set similar to Horton. It could potentially be the best of both worlds in that Horton seemed to do a nice job and was by no means the problem. I wonder if he would go from interim coach to OC if he was given a bit of a raise.

I obviously would want Shannon to be able to hire whoever he would want here, but I think he is the only candidate where it might make a little bit of sense to keep some of our offensive coaches around.

If Shannon is hired, does Henderson follow him back to Minnesota?

NO chance. None. Nope.

The coach was targeted weeks ago and is coaching this weekend. If it was Shannon he would have been offered before last weekend.

The reporter that broke this story is named "HawaiiRainbows".

Doubt it.

Maturi needs a hire that's going to make people happy. Hiring someone who was fired because he couldn't win at Miami isn't going to charge anyone up.

I hope that charging the fan base is not high on the list of criteria they are using in selecting a coach. Two years down the line the fact that the fan base was excited about the hire isn't going to mean anything. Find someone that can develop the program.
