Schiano Gives Injury Update

PJ might be on the Schiano coaching tree, but he differs in one big respect: updating the press and fans on injury status. Maybe Schiano's just getting his excuses ready in case things don't go well. AK is healthy ...
PJ does it right. None of your business. Always.

"The injuries have coincided with Rutgers losing four straight games. The Scarlet Knights enter the bye week at 4-4 (1-4 Big Ten)."
Depending how many guys got well enough to play? ...it could be a factor or it could be a woe is me excuse.
Time will tell.

Reminds me of Minnesota’s struggles with injuries last year and we all saw the results of that, especially on defense. Hoping Minnesota can take advantage.

It seems like they were decent early in the season but they display a classic absence of depth now and as a result their season has descended into a dumpster.

High-quality depth is the one of the great advantages that helmet schools have over the rest of the pack. The season is long, key players get nicked up or injured; next man up can be a chancy proposition for many teams.

Really? Look at the article you cited. What did Schiano say that updates the fans or the press (or the opponent) about any injured player. Schiano said exactly zero about which players are injured, which ones might play and which ones won't. All he says is that the injured players will get better, some might play before the season ends and that some players are limited somewhat by injuries. The players who normally play will be replaced by less experienced guys if they can't go. He mentioned no names. The reporter then adds the names of players who have been banged up, but there is nothing from Schiano giving any insight into who might play, who might not and who might be limited.

The style is a little different, but to me it seems pretty much the same as PJ being asked if Tyler Cooper will be cleared to play and saying "you'll know two hours before game time."
