We should all make an attempt to say some nice things about our new coach. I sincerely hope he suceeds despite all my doubts. Here's my 5.

1. We couldn't have possibly overpaid for him or be burdened by a long contract.

2. His last name is easy to spell.

3. Expectations won't be too high.

4. He's had at least a .500 record every place he's coached.

5. He's not Marc Trestman.

We've hired a coach with a winning record for the first time since Lou Holtz.

He's been a division one head coach. with a winning record

uuuhhhh..... he... ummmm......

he can sorta grow a mustache.

He's not Brewster.

He likely knows how to use Gray to his FULL potential.......I remember they ran a lot of option reads out of the shotgun. Perfect for Marquies!

He beat the *&^!#*&^!#*&^!#*&^!# out of our Gophers this year.

He's a winner

And I believe he can win here. Hell, that's what I want and I will stand behind him until I am shown otherwise. Go Gophers! Let's retain and take hold of more trophies next year.

Kill is a proven winner.

I don't think this is nearly as bad as many of the overreactionists think.

The fault for the anger lies directly with Maturi who stupidly gave fans visions of a big name savior rolling into town without knowing it could happen.

Time will tell how this plays out, but Kill's resume is different than the other coaches we have hired in the past.

Yeah but so did SDSU, or was it USD, I forget now. And I know I didn't want their coach...

It was the Coyotes, or Yotes, as the hot college chicks told me on the bus.

I said this on another thread:

Short of a one game slide (from 10 wins to 9 in 2005 at SIU, followed by another 9 win season), his teams always have more wins than the preceding season. That's over 17 seasons at 4 different schools at 4 different levels.

1. He's not Mark Trestman

2. He's not Paul Chryst

3. He will coach up what talent we already have

4. Sid won't mispronounce his name.

5. We don't have to worry about what happens if we pay him more then Tubby

I'd be careful on the Sid one. He's past remembering his son's name much less some fly by night coach.

He is still alive!
On September 11, 2010, Coach Kill was hospitalized for dehydration hours after a 23-17 win over North Dakota.

For all the Al Golden fans, Kill's NIU team beat Temple this year by 14 points.

He has a nice non abrasive manner about him and he looks like he might keep the local orthodontics industry in business.

Exactly!
