Their home football games offer abundant ticket options and good seat & leg room.

They aren't Badgers.

Or Hawkeyes.

I am fully confident that they will make the NCAA tourney sometime before the year 2100.

You can park for free in their campus lots and tailgate on gamedays.

Northwestern basketball coaches have sat in more random seats in Williams arena than any other team in history.

Their stadium is bigger than most high school stadiums. It's also newer than some National Monuments.

Their Comm. department has a very cool PhD program called "Rhetoric and Public Culture", to which I briefly considered applying.

Floppy-weiner obsessed and funny-hat wearing author George R.R. Martin is an alum.

Their campus is far enough from Chicago to distill any fear of murder.

Second favorite big ten team.

One of my neighbors is one of the dozen NW fans - he's a little strange, but not crazy.

It's the only B1G campus located directly on a Great Lake. And you can get a fairly decent education there.

They play on real grass and their fans were nice during our visit last year.

They dislike Wisky fans almost as much as we do.

Aside from those awful blood splattered helmets they wore last year, I generally like their colors and jerseys they've worn over the years.

Located near Chicago which is the best city to visit for an away game in the B1G by a wide margin. Great trip last year.

There mascot looks like big stuffed plush Toy almost bunny rabbit like, so the kids should actually like this cat. He doesn't look to mean or wild.

That's sweet! Kind of the football version of Hello Kitty?

NW actually has a long list of well-known alumni (or former students - some of the people listed attend NW but did not graduate.....)
Warren Beatty, Ann-Margaret, Stephen Colbert, Robert Conrad, Charlton Heston, Cloris Leachman, Shelly Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, David Schwimmer, Brent Musberger, Michael Wilbon, Hugh Hefner, Fred "the Hammer" Williamson, and a couple of special mentions: Clancy Brown - who played the Kurgan in the original "Highlander" movie - and Edward D. Wood, Jr - director of the cult Classic "Plan 9 from Outer Space."

Their student section doesn't tolerate negative chants and drunken fans of the opposing team (e.g. me and a few buddies), but is very calm and politely asks the ushers to kick them out instead of being aggressive.

Rachel Zane attended Northwestern!!!

It's as cheap to fly 98% of the way there as it is to taxi the remaining 2%.

Pat Fitzgerald seems like a good guy, it's a great school and you can catch a show at Second City after a game.

They blast that roar over the loud speakers for all the cougars in attendance.
