Okay I noticed the game time for the San Jose state game is still Tba but does anyone have any idea when the time may be. Another night game possibly or morning game?

It will either be at 11:00 or 2:30. BTN & ABC/ESPN has already announced their night games.

I'll be pretty surprised if it isn't 11 am. It's practically a guarantee.

Looking at the rest of the schedule I wouldn't be so sure it might not be a 2:30 BTN kick.

TBD Michigan @ Connecticut
TBD Maine @ Northwestern
TBD San Jose State @ Minnesota
TBD South Dakota State @ Nebraska
TBD Florida A&M @ Ohio State
TBD Kent State @ Penn State
TBD Purdue @ Wisconsin
TBD Western Michigan @ Iowa
3:30 PM Michigan State @ Notre Dame NBC
8:00 PM Missouri @ Indiana BTN

I see Purdue@ WI as the 2:30 ABC game, but no other games stand out as great games. With us playing a west coast team, I bet you 2:30 is probably more likely than 11.

There is a lot of interest in Fales so I wouldn't jump to any conclusions. However I won't be shocked by an 11am start.

I'm betting on 11 AM. It will be 9 AM for the SJSU players--we'll take any advantage we can get.

Depending on the TV situation though, I doubt they will have a 9 am start time for the west coast market. So 2:30 seems more likely.

Gopher-Cal game 2009 was 11:00AM start (9:00 PT).

This season:
UCLA at Nebraska
Stanford at Army

Both scheduled at 9:00AM PT.

When we played Cal here (and they were ranked #8 at the time), it was an 11 am start. Then again, we played USC here the next year and it was a 2:30 start, so who knows. It could go either way, but given the lack of panache of the opponent, I still say an 11 am start is most likely. We got mostly 2:30 starts last year and are seeming to get mostly 11 am starts this year.

There is no market for San Jose State football. They drew a grand total of 64,732 for the entire season, barely 10,000 per game - third-worst in the nation.

My guess is 11:00 AM. I thought of that Cal game too when I made this prediction.

Looking the the dreck the Big Ten has that isn't already on NBC or on ESPN/ABC; if BTN has a 2:30 window, Spartans-Gophers looks like the game to fill that window.

What makes you say that?

2012:
11am starts - Six (6) games
2:30pm starts - Four (4) games

2013 (so far):
11am starts - One (1) game
2:30pm starts - Three (3) games

I should've clarified - I meant home games. In my head, it was 2012 with the preponderance of 2:30 games, but in reality it was 2011. We had zero 11 am kickoffs in 2011, with 6/7 being at 2:30 and the NDSU tilt a night game. In 2012, it was 4 at 11, 2 at 2:30, and 1 at night. That's the start of a backwards trend, and it appears to me that they're going to keep sticking us at 11 until we give them a reason not to.

Maybe I'm repeating myself but the chance of seeing a top NFL prospect may cause people to tune in. If Christian Ponder implodes early in the first few Vikings games there might be some of their fans their rooting for Fales to have a big game.

Firstly, I understand your theory, but I don't think many "pro-football only" fans would have that much wherewithal. I'm serious here. I doubt many Minnesota NFL fans have seen more than one or two games in the career of a "top NFL prospect". I'll throw a random number out there and say you would get a couple of hundred extra viewers from the "massively horsesh!t Ponder" + "top NFL prospect" + "game time" equation.

Secondly, if anybody in Minnesota roots for Fales to have a big game against the Gophers, I will fly up there and personally escort them to the border. Then I will kick their ass over the line.

Vikings fans, by and large, have no idea of ANY college players until they are brought up on a kfan or a strib mock draft, and then they think they are experts since they have heard their names.

95% of Vikings fans don't even know who David Fales is.

No doubt about it.

Nope. As you correct yourself later, it was 2011 not 2012. (Correcting yourself is not the same as not being sufficiently specific)

Thank you for correcting your wrongness

No, I wasn't wrong. Not being sufficiently specific is not being wrong. I thought it was understood that we were talking about Gopher home games, but it was a bad assumption.

Yes you were wrong. You said last year we had 'mostly 2:30 starts' but it was 2011. Whether we're talking about all games or just home games doesn't really have anything to do with your wrongness

I'm just trying to bust your chops a little since you like to call out everyone else out for being wrong. Hopefully you can admit when you're wrong.....

If you're going to bust my chops, at least pick the right thing. I was wrong about the year, but I wasn't wrong about there being more 11 am games, which is what your FIFY stated.
