per the Union Tribune:

Minnesota football receiver Drew Wolitarsky’s description of his team’s arrival in San Diego on Friday sounded like a scene out of a movie.

He said as the plane descended from the clouds, the San Diego skyline was bathed in sunshine. Maybe the entire Golden Gophers squad took a deep breath and exhaled.

“It was a sigh of relief,” Wolitarsky said.

Minnesota is here to play Washington State in the 39th National Funding Holiday Bowl on Tuesday at Qualcomm Stadium, and though they’ve been paced through the usual local activities such as visiting SeaWorld and going aboard a Navy ship, this has been anything but the usual bowl buildup.
