I’m sticking with my prediction of 8-4.

I think the Gophers are the best of the middle or will be by next year. The bottom is Purdue and Illinois. The top is Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State in that order. Before we can join the top we need at least a couple more recruiting classes and more experience. Coach Kill has done a very, very good job but the top three have a head start on him. It will simply take a few years to catch up .

That said I can see us winning today if Wisconsin gets a couple of early scores just like Nebraska did. Everyone on the Badger team will think they have the game won and between the cold and lack of momentum they won’t be able to come back. I really think the Gophers want this game more than the Badgers.

Go Gophers! Prove me wrong!

You have the right to be wrong. This is still America. The reason everyone still doesn't believe in the Gophers is, I think, because Kill has downplayed his "young team" publicly. The players believed they were a "young team" so they had an excuse. But, young in terms of Kill's recruits usually means the inherited players don't buy in soon enough. These veterans have bought in. They believe in their coaches and this staff can coach. Now you have 9 senior starters, who have been in B1G battles, like Brock, Ed and Aaron, leading vocally and with their play. I really believe this team is ready to shock the world today. It's going to be a fun day!

Even with Brew at the helm we competed against wisky. Rivalries even things out. Throw some weather in there and it gets more even. Throw homefield for the underdog and it gets even closer. It's unlikely, but definitely within the realm of possibility.

It is a tough thing to do as a Minnesota fan. I have been watching the Gophers for a long time and losing games we are supposed to lose and even losing some we are supposed to win has become the norm. It is tough to predict a Gopher win because you have that deep down feeling that we are going to be let down big time. I think Kill and company is on the right track to hopefully changing that mindset and changing the losing ways which are ingrained into our program. I am very hopeful for a win today, but then look at the stat sheets and recent history and realize we really are a 17pt underdog. This is a game that we have no business of winning. That being said, it is a rivalry and we are going to have to win games like this to get rid of the monkey on our backs. Today I am predicting a loss and hoping for a win. I think that one day soon Kill will have us being able to predict B1G wins with confidence. It is sad that our program ever got to the low levels it has, but at the same time it's very exciting to see the potential of where we can go! Ski-U-Mah! It is time to send Becky home without the Axe for once!

My Realist's side says we have no business winning this game. My Optimist's side says "Why not?". Screw the Realist, I'm going with the Optimist. :cheer::cheer:

I am more convinced today that we can beat Michigan State. I still put the odds in their favor, but we were impressive today.

I was on the fence between 7-5 and 8-4. Of course I would like the team to win every game, but this is all house money in my book. Just keep making progress. Today, the defense was good enough to win. It is too bad the offense could not hold up their end. Looking at 2012, the progress from the MSU game to the bowl game impressed me. Can't wait to see how this year shakes out.
