The coach who built up So St Paul basketball from being the worst team in Minnesota, over a 10 year time, to being undefeated in regulation play, committed suicide last week. This was the coach that guided Alonzo Dodd through high school.
Prayers for the family and the entire SSP basketball family. What a tragedy.

McCollister had been South St. Paul High School’s head basketball coach since November 2019, and was credited with leading a turnaround of a once-struggling program. Prior to joining South St. Paul, McCollister had been a head coach at Breck, St. Croix Preparatory Academy and Brooklyn Center.[/quote

Wow! That is very sad. His wife needs to be an incredibly resilient woman to carry on and stay strong for the kids.
Maybe a months long prison sentence to endure and he could have reinvented his life. A lot of people were still counting him.
Probably several people also wondering how they could have helped to prevent this outcome.
I didn't know the guy but feel like I should have done something to help. Just not the answer. Very sorry for his wife and family.
My prayers are with them.
