Running game - do we pull our guards?

I just watched the Syracuse game for the third time last night, but as I sit here today I can't remember if I saw our guards ever pull on sweeps or off tackle runs. Can anyone confirm that?

I would love to see Carufel pull and drill one of the undersized Air Force defenders tomorrow!!

Pulling guards

I am far from a football expert, but pulling guards are usually used when you think you are maybe smaller, quicker, and craftier than the defense. I don't think Davis felt that way going into week one, thinking his guys could just blast off the line and control it. I think he might have a different outlook now.

Agreed. Pulling guards is usually a good idea when you are undersized and have more speed than the defense.

Pulling a guard isn't just for an undersized team. A team pulls its guards to get an extra player at the point of attack.
