Running Backs???

Are any of the Freshman Running Backs expected to challenge for playing time?

I seem to remember a nice 4 star prospect from Texas who was recruited...did he get qualified and registered? He looked like the best prospect of the group and seemed alot faster and stronger than either Bennett or Eskridge.

I'm not sure if this is a weak attempt at a flame or a legitimate question but Kevin Whaley is the only freshman RB (redshirt) on the roster. Whaley will compete for playing time at RB. It sounds like the top 3 backs are Bennett, Eskridge & Whaley with no clear leader heading in to camp.

Hasan Lipscomb (the 4-star RB from Texas) is enrolled in a Juco. It sounds like he is the only unexpected casualty in the recruiting class although Campion (back surgery) is now gray shirting and as was always expected Searcy is gray shirting and plans to enroll in January (assuming he gets a qualifying ACT score).

No flame attempt....I haven't been on the hole since the spring when this site went thru some kinda transformation....I am saddened to read about Lipscomb...he is the guy I was hoping we would see this year...when did it get announced and is he gone forever?

About a month ago and no not necessarily gone for ever. Comments from him and his new juco coach indicate he still wants to be a gopher so we'll see how things shake out.
