I'm still angry and salty about Saturday's loss to Iowa. I was in the stadium and still can't believe we blew it. However, what really pissed me off was a group of troll Iowa fans in front of us who kept heckling and yelling at everyone around them THE ENTIRE GAME. It got so bad that security was called on them twice (not by me). They were especially bad sore winners after the game was done. It kinda ruined my game experience, which sucks for a game that already didn't go our way. I've heard Iowa fans are some of the worst, and this confirmed it for me.

Anyone else have experiences with jerk Iowa fans? Mostly using this as a chance to cope with schadenfreude.

This was a dream season for me - I lucked my way into attending games at Nebraska and Penn State. Both fan bases were so incredibly nice that I promised myself when I saw opposing fans at our home games I would thank them for coming and congratulate and/or wish them luck. Both Nebraska and PSU fans went out of their way to thank me for coming that I wanted to pay it forward.

Sometimes I am mad at myself that I can’t be a bigger person but I had no interest congratulating an Iowa fan on their win. I never talk trash to other fanbases but I don’t have it in me to congratulate them either.

Nope. The ones around us were fine. As noted in another post, had to tolerate their infernal "I-O-W-A" chant at the train station but that was it.

I will note that we've had other years where TCF was almost a Kinnick North II. Those were some arrogant SOBs before PJ's time.

Visiting Iowa fans are the worst.

2018 iowa fans sat next to us, they started running their mouths before kickoff and were insulting fans all around.

After Iowa scored one jumped up yelling too easy fan to every gopher fan around them.

I asked the one what it was like to fuck his sister ( promptly followed by me apologizing to gopher fans in front of me for swearing in front their kids. My group quickly stopped swearing, but we weren't perfect)

Gophers scored and I started yelling at guy too easy, I thought your defense was supposed to be good

Shortly after that they relocated, multiple fans cheered when they left, and was much more pleasant after that.

I have been to a number of B1G cities for Gopher games. Nebraska and Penn State fans are by far the best. Incredible really. I’ve had random people buy our entire table beers in Lincoln. Great college towns to visit.

Nebraska fans are really good hosts.

I'd argue Iowa fans are good hosts, just terrible visitors.

Wisconsin fans are horrible hosts.

Agree with that top two.
Indiana was really good too but sparsely populated compared to the other two.

I have been to a number of B1G cities for Gopher games. I can say, without a doubt, IOAW has the worst fans by far. I’ve been to 4 games there and always the same. I had fans throwing food and swearing at us when I was there with 2 kids around 10-12 years old. With that said, the 2 sitting by me on Saturday at TCF Bank were great fans and fun to talk with.

Haven’t been to Bloomington yet. Or East Lansing. Or Columbus. Some day.

Iowa fans by me this year were mostly fine

Just normal visiting fan stuff and I'm but going to get upset they cheered especially at end, they earned it.

Well as much as a fan can

Section 104 Iowa fans were great. Well except one guy of the 40+ around me. Was a fine experience. Except I had to laugh when the lady near me asked what we were spelling, I informed her our state had a lot more letters than 4 so I know our chat can be tough, lol.

That’s frikin bush league. As I’ve stated before I’m a badger and gopher guy. I think the gopher fans are really fun and nice guys. The only one I ever met who was a tool was in a big group and his friend all rode him till he shut his hole. It’s just a game and I love some good banter but anyone who takes it to far is probably a Fkn loser who needs his team to win so he can feel better about his pathetic life.

There weren't too many Iowa fans by us. Cheered....sometimes very loudly when their team made a play. Nothing outlandish or rude. Didn't direct anything at any Gopher fans from what I could tell.

If anything in the 211-212 area there was a LOT more "WHO HATES IOWA" cheering than in the past. Seemed to come more from the younger cohort of Gopher fans. NOTE: For the Billds, anyone born after 1976 counts as younger...

Might be a generational thing as the hate torch gets passed once again and Floyd is never here to be a salve to the football wound. Not complaining...just noticing.

I had three Iowa fans sitting next to us that were actually pleasant and complimentary of MO and liked visiting TCF. These were not heavy drinkers though so that might have been why they were actually nice to talk to. Section 131 the Iowa fans were not that bad really, they even joked you can say the Who Hates Iowa chant around them. Not going to lie after BS'ing with them about where they were from and the game, I was shocked how nice they were. First time for everything I guess.

2 Iowa fans by me were ok at beginning of game but by 2nd half they were just insanely drunk and got a little obnoxious.

No issues. With a scarf, skull cap, trooper hat & hood of my jacket up though, I couldn't hear any chatter/talk more beyond a 3 ft radius around me.

As for the student section, I can say that there was more trash talk toward the Iowa fans than the other way around. The Iowa students I saw were calm and not overly annoying. There was some tension every once in a while, but that is expected. As much as I wanted to talk trash, I reminded myself that I am traveling to the Madison game and sitting in the student section. I don't want to be treated poorly there, win or lose, so showing people the same courtesy here is important.

Be prepared to be called an asshole and homophobic slurs

Oh, I'm ready lmao. Hopefully our play on the field will speak louder than anything I will say. I will be sure to remind them that we own jump around after that field storm last year. If all else fails, just bring up the packers.

I had a couple decent ones by me and a couple that cheered Gopher injuries… Also had an Iowa fan cry about the way he was treated while in the restroom. I think he said 201 or 204.
