Roy Williams on ACC only getting 4 bids: "I didn't think it was necessarily fair."

per CBS:

Atlantic Coast Conference coaches are still reeling from the league's poor representation in the NCAA tournament.

They're using words like disappointed, fair, respect and perception describing how they feel about the ACC having just four teams in the tournament and no No. 1 seed.

Go Gophers!!

There was one about the SEC coaches, too. This is a non-story in my mind. What's a coach supposed to say? The teams didn't earn bids, but every coach stands up for his league like this.

Exactly.

All the coaches say their leagues are great. Protect your own hide, first.

It all comes out in the wash during the NCAA Tournament, just like it does during bowl season for football. The Big Ten (and the Mountain West, too) clearly are the conferences with the most pressure on 'em heading into the tournament. They've received a lotta' love during the season and rightly so, but now they have to back it up with lotsa W's in the NCAA tourney.

Conversely, the ACC's task, once again, is to prove it's more than just Duke and Carolina. Duke and Carolina aren't the problem with the ACC. It's all the rest. Can anyone else get beyond the Sweet 16?

There's an art to boosting for your conference without coming off as whiny and unrealistic. Roy has yet to master that art.
