Roy All American Freshmen-The Athletic

Roy and Johnson back next year would be a start. I'm not an offensive line guru but who else Beers, portal transfer or underclassmen ready to go? The line seemed better when Taylor was healthy too.

I was surprised that the transfer from Washington hardly saw the field. He's big and I wonder if he could slot in at RT. I'm guessing we will see some guys coming in through the portal but I hope they are more productive than last portal's results.

Roy, Johnson, Beers, Nelson, Tafai are back with a lot of experience. There’s a slew of underclassmen that could emerge, and we’ll see what gets added through the portal, maybe an experienced tackle?

Would be nice to see them go out and get transfers that would a lot in ahead of 2 of the 5 mentioned above.

Roy and Johnson on the left side, Beers can play either center or Guard, hopefully Brett Carroll can make a leap similar to JMS in 2019 and then maybe Beers can take a Connor Olson type role where he plays either center or Guard. I liked Nelson at RG, but we clearly need to bring someone in at RT

If it plays out like this I don’t see a loss on the schedule next year!

Always had high hopes for Williams though.

I doubt Tafai will be back….

He started all season at right tackle for tOSU. I think OL would have been a totally different story for the Gophers this past season if he had stayed. We developed him; Ohio State snatched him (although Ohio is Daniels' home state, which probably was a factor).

Why didn’t he play for us the year before?

Thank you Wisconsin.
I think they passed on him, for the most part. Even though I believe he was the state's #1 recruit in his class. Certainly losing their touch with evaluating linemen under Fickell.

Next up is Aytch who was #1 recruit in Indiana according to some sources, but Cignetti appears to have passed on him. We'll see who ends up being right on him.

I don't think Fickell prefers road grader type lineman.

As a RS FR in 2024 , Phillip Daniels played in all 12 games for the Gophers. He started in three. That is a lot of playing time for a RS FR O-Lineman. Do you even watch the Gophers?

I’m just surprised he was good enough to go there based on the 3 starts. Especially with our 2024 right side being kind of shitty.

I thought Cig offered him late?
