per this update from JCFootball.com:

It's still early in the recruiting cycle for the 2010 recruiting class, but nevertheless, College of the Sequoias OT Roszell Gayden has become one of the most sought-after line prospects in California. JCFootball.com caught up with the talented lineman recently and he updated us on things including which teams could be very close to extending offers...

Gayden was a top prep OL prospect from Minnesota and committed to play for the Golden Gophers after his senior season at Robbinsdale Cooper High School in New Hope, however he was unable to qualify so he and his twin brother, Rashad Gayden, decided to head out west to continue their football careers.

Shortly after arriving at COS, Gayden was inserted as the starter for the Giants and he had an outstanding freshman season.

Now he sports seven offers and more could be on the way.

"I have Iowa State, Arkansas, California, Arizona State, Minnesota, Southern Miss and Memphis," Gayden told JCFootball.com. "UCLA has been coming on pretty strong and also Utah, Auburn and Cincinnati.

"They all are just waiting on my transcripts and film and if they like what they see they will probably offer me."

Gayden said spring practices went well and he's just working to get in the best shape he can be in by the time the season starts.

"I'm just working on getting in the best shape possible," Gayden said. "Running, doing stairs, lifting. It's all about improving to be ready for my season and get me ready for the next level."

Gayden hasn't just been hard at work in the weight room, he's also gotten ahead on his coursework and will finish up his degree in December and he'll have three years to play two wherever he ends up.

We'll have more from Gayden in the near future as recruiting continues to move along.
