Why doesn't the U list RS next to every player that has red-shirted in the program? For example Ed Olson is a RS SO. It would help in identifying what year each players is in.

Northern Illinois list RS before every player that has red-shirted. They have 62 guys on their roster that have red-shirted in the past. The U only list it next to FR and Medical Red-shirts.

Strange. They used to show year in school and eligibility next to each other. Not sure when or why they went away from that.

You can go to the scholarship grid here and it will tell you who has used their red shirt year and who hasn't.

WR Quentin Gardner

Can someone remind me what the deal is here? Is he coming back or moving on? I remember it was a test score issue, but he is listed as a incoming freshman on recruiting grid.

I don't think he is coming back. That's what I think I heard.

I think it's because besides those people, it doesn't really matter. How most people look at their respective classes, it goes by what year they are going to finish (not what year they started). While that might make a difference if someone was to get injured, in the grand scheme of things what really matters is when they finish. For instance, for looking at available scholarships Bunders and Tinsley are the same this year. It doesn't really matter than Tinsley was on campus a year later than Bunders. However, it does matter with freshmen because many of them will be freshmen again next year.

I agree and understand Bob. I just like to know if they have been in the program for 2vs3 years for development purposes.

No, I hear you. For you and I (rubes), that stuff is interesting.
