per Rossow:
On a sun-soaked Saturday at TCF Bank Stadium, the Golden Gophers’ lone senior receiver showed he can still be a major offensive playmaker for the Maroon and Gold.
Veteran Drew Wolitarsky sparked the Gophers passing attack, catching eight receptions for a career-high 125 yards and two touchdowns to lead Minnesota in a 58-28 rout of Indiana State.
If Saturday’s impressive display against the Sycamores is any indication, Wolitarsky is ready to be the Gophers No. 1 receiver this fall after being the second or third receiving option for most of his career in Dinkytown.
“I’ve been working this whole offseason to be the guy,” Wolitarsky said. “I can’t say it was easy, but here I am and I’m ready.”
