I think firing Tubby would be a bad idea, and I think this season could still end up being a success. I think this is a confidence team who is out of confidence. They'll lose to Indiana. But then they'll beat PSU, build some confidence, beat Nebraska, and then hopefully beat Purdue. Then, they're on a bit of a roll going in the BTT, beat an easy team in the first round, lose in the next. Then, they're in the tourney, and they're back against non-Big Ten competition. In the NIT last year, and in every non-conference season, we've seen how well we can do against non-Big Ten teams who don't do the slow it down style that kills us. I still think it's possible that we could end up having a successful season.

On the Tubby conversation, why do people think that we're the sort of place that can pull a great coach to replace him? I was on board with firing Mase. I still think it was a good idea. But we've seen how disastrous it can be. Personally, I'd be in favor of Teague telling Tubby after the year to fire a deadweight assistant or two and bring in a couple of x's and o's guys, like Monson with Molinari. But outright firing a coach who will in all likelihood have us in the dance this year? I just think it's probably a bad idea.

Why does everyone thing we won't be able to hire a great coach? Who cares! He would have to be dead in order to under achieve as much as Tubby has.

I'm actually wondering if Tubby actually coaches anymore. His team looks lost, and he's usually emotionally checked out by midway through the first half.

Good call on the thread title.

Thread Title: " Roll Call for the Delusional/Positive Fans "

This thread ought to be full of comments. Why? All fans are Delusional/Positive at the beginning of the season. Once reality sets in, all fans are irrational and negative. Why is that? Because we are human, and we all hate having our bubbles popped.

It is out of my hands, and thank God in the hands of Woodrow Teague. I am just glad we have him at the helm of the ship instead of Joel Maturi.

Major surgery takes a long time to heal. So let's have emergency surgery and let the healing begin.

GO GOPHERS!!!

count me as positive delusional fan who thinks we're going to the round of 32

See this logic used on this board quite a bit. How well the team does against non-Big Ten teams. Seeing that the team plays 18 games a year in the B1G Conference shouldn't playing well within your conference against teams that you know annually play a slow it down style be a priority? And if the team isn't built to play well against the style and teams within it's conference who is at fault for that?

I think that only jmag21, alphabet man and that high school kid (whose name escapes me; Parski(?)) are left on the Tubby bandwagon now that Dr. Don has flipped

Because some of us remember what happened after Glen Mason was fired.

Are you afraid of the dark too?

Maturi made a royal eff up with the Brewster hire. It's now history, but it doesn't mean the next hire won't be great. Regardless of what dpo says.

Why are you so obsessed with me? Including, but not limited to, calling me a third-grader (durr hurr hurr) in another thread. When and where have I said that Minnesota can't or won't be great? When and where have I said that Tubby's successor can't or won't be great?

Oh I think you can probably figure it out. Kudos for keeping up.
