Do you guys think Rodney made a mistake staying 4 years? He has no chance of getting drafted and will have to star in the D league if he wants any shot. If he had left after year 1, he likely would have been drafted on athleticism alone. Granted he'd still be who he is, and so let's hope his degree leaves him options...

He had fun playing basketball and got a great education. Maybe he didn't help his draft stock, but can't say he made the wrong decision.

He's got a nice little piece of paper that made him employable elsewhere if basketball doesn't work out for him. I'd say he made the smart decision.

He could never add elements to his game- like shooting- which would've been necessary to make it in the NBA at his height. Good decision to get the degree.

I actually think Rodney's main problem was simply not shooting enough. Obviously in practice but most importantly in games. His form was decent but you need to see the ball go in the hoop to build up confidence and Rodney really hesitated to pull the trigger this year when he struggled. He needed to shoot his way out of the slump. He was also very frail when it came to finishing this year. He might have finished with contact about 3 or 4 times the whole year. There were about 10 blown dunks and many blown layups and short shots that he simply couldn't finish in traffic. He's frail and lacks confidence.

I can remember him finishing last year OVER people, especially in the NIT run last year. He also hit a decent number of 3's and other mid range shots...This year, he just slumped and lost confidence.

He's a frail kid...If anybody can ever instill some toughness and grit in him, I think he can make a living playing basketball somewhere. Maybe the Harlem Globetrotters will take him.

Rodney just spent four years not reaching his potential. He still might get there, but someone's going to have to light a fire in his ass. He's going to have to toughen up. The next time someone throws him under the bus, instead of crying to reporters about it, he's going to serve himself better by saying, thank you sir, may I have another.

You got that right. About one minute into the second half, I couldn't believe how awful his performance and body language was yet again. Then he actually competed. I was impressed with attitude during most of the second half. Of course, he missed everything he threw up, including multiple layups, but I actually thought he toughened up for a bit. Too bad that was so rare. I really don't know what happened to the guy from the end of last year. Oh well. It's over.

Take a look at how "physical" the teams in the NIT were? They were vastly undersized teams who like to run, besides Stanford. Rodney probably would have had a slightly better career had he went to a pac-12 or sec run and gun team as he has nothing to offer in the half court on offense. Small forward size with poor outside shooting, poor ball handling, a reluctance to get physical when screening, and almost no movement without the ball. Throw in bad body language, whining to officials, and no mental toughness. I appreciate Rodney for his 4 years but that is mostly about some highlight things and almost never of those little things that don't show up in the box score but help a team win games.
