Rodney last night?

People don't give him rave reviews so far, but it said he dropped 24 points last night, can anyone elborate or tell us the specifics?

It didn't feel like he scored 24 points, but he hit a couple of threes, what I like the most is he dropped a at least two turn around 5' jumpers. The downside is he should have had 40 points if he was aggressive on the block. The stocky 5'-9" Jontae Koonkaew (WIAC) was guarding him most the game.

Chris Halvorsen was the exclamation point on a 13-0 run for Sabes to start the third quarter, exciting the crowd that hung around with a couple of acrobatic dunks. -from the link.

This kid is a freak athlete, but can he shoot? I didn't see him attempt anything away from the rim.

Does anyone know if Rodney has added any bulk (added muscle)? He could be the key to a better team next year if he develops.

yea, from the time he was a senior to now I'd estimate hes put on 15-20 lbs mostly muscle, he'll never be huge i wouldn't think, 210-215 might be his max weight without being fat. The kids metabolism must be sky high.

I think back to when Quincy Lewis came as a freshman compared to his senior year. That was one skinny kid who filled out pretty well at the end of his career. I really liked watching him play.

Two thoughts on Rodney that have nothing to do with this thread. (1) If Rodney was a track guy he'd be an elite high jumper and (2) Guys that go up that high get injuried by being undercut a lot.

Not true. High jumping has a lot more to do with form then an actual vertical leap. You could have huge ups like RW and be a terrible high jumper.

The central question:

Is Rodney Williams an athlete, or is he a basketball player?

I get the uncomfortable sense that it's the former.

(I know, I know...the two are not mutually exclusive. But they can be. And that's what I'm afraid of.)
