Do these debacles have Pitino on the hot seat? Should they? He's got a Top 25 recruiting class coming in next year so I think that talk is premature. I really hope Hopkins' 5-star Amir Coffey and John Marshall's 3-star Michael Hurt are hitting the weights hard so they can both hit the ground running. The Gophers need help, and they need it right away.

RUFF: I do see brighter days ahead. And I'm not asking for Pitino to be fired. I just want his teams to resemble what we saw in his debut season, when his guys defended and played with a purpose on offense.

This is a season to build and for Pitino to teach, especially his freshmen, who have talent. I want to see progress. This has been an embarrassing week for Gophers fans. Now it's time for Pitino to go earn that pay raise that so many shook their heads about. Time for the son of a Hall of Fame coach to show us what he's got. We'll be watching.

I wish more people would take this attitude instead of jumping to fire him. SDst loss we should have seen coming, for those of you who were surprised about us losing this year... you apparently don't follow college basketball.

Someone should teach Pitino how to teach defense.
