per the Post Bulletin:
Kill has quieted critics by rebuilding the Gophers into a relevancy. After winning just three games in 2011, the Gophers won six games and played in the Meineke Car Care Bowl in 2012. Minnesota won eight games in 2013 and played in the Texas Bowl. After the 2013 season, the university extended Kill's contract in a demonstration of faith in his ability to control his condition and remain coach. Kill rewarded their commitment with another eight-win season and an invitation to its most prestigious Bowl game in 53 years.
There's little question that Thursday's game is proof that Minnesota's football program is on the rise. With Thursday's appearance in the Citrus Bowl and a state-of-the-art football practice facility in the planning stages, the Gophers are well positioned to build on the success of this season.
But best of all, the program is led by a coach who has been a role model of overcoming adversity for not just people with disabilities, but for all of us.
