per the Post Bulletin:
Kasson-Mantorville graduate Broc Berge has left the University of Iowa wrestling program and intends to transfer to the University of Minnesota.
Berge plans to wrestle for the Gophers. He said he has applied for acceptance at Minnesota. Pending that acceptance, Berge will join the Gophers in the second semester of this season.
"I plan to continue and finish my wrestling career at Minnesota," Berge said. "I will have to sit out this semester and the first semester of the following year, but I'll have 2.5 years (of eligibility remaining).''
Berge said that Iowa simply wasn't for him.
"It wasn't the right fit," he said. "I was there for a year and I stayed overt he summer. I was just never comfortable down there. And wrestling wasn't going as well as I wanted it to."
