Texas Tech in? That will be interesting. People don't like comparisons (because the current coach looks bad) but Tech was a tire fire when Smith took over. Hard not to compare the two programs trajectories.

Tech has a strong RPI but still a lot of work to do. Still a bubble team. They took a big step last week, certainly, beating a pair of sure-fire NCAA tourney teams, Iowa State and Baylor (in Waco). Beating a potential #1 seed like Oklahoma in Lubbock this week would make it awfully difficult for Tech not to make the tournament provided they didn't freefall down the stretch.

Latest Joe Lunardi & Jerry Palm projections

My only major quip is, Lunardi is stoned having Saint Mary's in the field. I guarantee you, the only reason he has the Gaels in the field is because they play @ Gonzaga on Saturday night on ESPN2. Lunardi has become a sell-out leading up to Selection Sunday. He and ESPN quite often use that little trick to try & help promote games airing on the ESPN family.

Lunardi and I currently differ on 4 at-larges. He has Florida State, Saint Mary's, Vanderbilt, and VCU in the field, in their place I have Alabama, Oregon State, Texas Tech, and Washington.

Palm and I differ on 2 at-larges. He has Butler & Florida State in the field, in their place I have Seton Hall & Washington.
