Goodness, it’s been a tough month for Hall of Fame baseball players-Seaver, Brock, Gibson, and now Whitey Ford. I hope you can access this article by Joe Posnanski, it’s quite a nice tribute to a player before my time who I fashioned as the Dean Martin to Mickey Mantle’s Sinatra in their heyday.

Only no-hitter (perfect game) in a World Series. RIP.

Wow, Whitey passing on.
RIP
(As with a lot of players of his era, lost a couple of years to the military.)
Looking over his stats and that 1961 season was really a monster year.

And hey barkeep, what's keepin' you, keep pourin' drinks
For all these palookas, hey, you know what I thinks
That we toast to the old days and DiMaggio too
And old Drysdale and Mantle, Whitey Ford and to you.
