Anybody able to listen?

Short interview. A lot of the usual.

They did ask him about succeeding his father. He deflected, rather than an outright denial, with the usual "Great fan base, Big Ten conference, Minneapolis/St. Paul are great cities, only D1 school in the state, I want to build a program."

Asked if he is ahead of schedule making the NIT final. "Yes. We brought two guys on in April recruiting (Mathieu and King, I guess? What about Smith?) that have been major impact players. Year two will be easier because we know what we have (do we?) and we don't have to implement a system, it's already there." (true)

Asked if his father helps him when watching or vice versa, "No. Harder to be watching than coaching in some ways. But don't want to get in the way."

Nothing that I can remember about last night's game or the geriatric ramblings of the announcing crew......

If he doesn't know what he has he is in trouble. Whether or not he likes what he has may be a different story.

Did he welcome him to the jungle? I hate Jim Rome as much as I hate Jim Soupcan, and man, do I hate Jim Soupcan.

After the interview, did he spend the next 20 minutes patting himself on the back and saying how "epic" the interview was?

This was the last time I paid attention to Jim Rome.

Little 5'9" slapdick.

Oh look...I have a goatee, aren't I edgy? Listen to how I fake a deeper voice, because I have a Napoleon complex. I'm a badass, I wear all black. Complete effin' phony.

Did he ever call him Chris again? I really wish this had never happened. I think Rome would have just disappeared, but alas, I think Everett made Rome's career right here.

I agree, Rome is a complete d-bag. He's no Ferrell on the Bench.

Rome had a huge following on the radio long before that TV interview.

One of my three favorite live TV moments (I hate Jim Rome). The other two are when Geraldo Rivera got hit in the face with a chair and when he got blanked in front of 30 million views at Capone's vault. (Hate Geraldo more!)

Count me as one who likes him.

He is a pretty good interviewer, and he gets great guests.

As Madtown said, you either love him or you hate him. As Rome would say, "give it two weeks. If you still don't like it, give it another two weeks. If you still don't like it, you never will."

Rome is similar to Rush in a way in that a lot of opinions of him are held by people that probably haven't ever listened to him that much. I find Rush entertaining, I don't like Sean Hannity, just for full disclosure.

Why the heck was in the game last night and almost cost it? Let me tell you why, he was there because Richard wanted to show that he was going to win with the players whom he has brought in.
Mav has been 100 times better than Malik and Richard knows it.

Smith is a 78% free throw shooter and decent ballhandler. Mav is a 68% free throw shooter and a $hitty ballhandler.

What's next on your endless list of idiotic things to post?

With this typically insightful statement, I think theres a place for you on the broadcasting crew Thursday.

I've gotta' side with this TRT on this one. Can't for the life of me figure out why Malik was in the game and Mav wasn't. It's not like Malik is the world's greatest ballhandler, either, and Mav has outplayed Malik by a longshot during the stretch run of the season. It's a legitimate question, I think.

2 for his last 36 on 3's, and most of those misses aren't even close to going in. That pretty much says it all.

Respectfully, SS, not at the end of the game in a foul situation. The whole rest of the game, I tend to agree, but NOT at the very end. Mav is a TO machine and a significantly worse FT shooter. The last thing I would want to see is Maverick dribbling in that situation.

Did Rome repeat what he said a dozen times? Did Rome repeat what he said a dozen times? Did Rome repeat what he said a dozen times? Did Rome repeat what he said a dozen times? Mav has definitely been playing better lately, so I was really frustated last night that Malik was getting so much playing time. I don't know why that was the case, but it seemed like Pitino was punishing Mav for having one of his inexplicable turnovers. There's no way it was for the reason you said though, since if that were true Mav wouldn't have been getting all the playing time he's been getting in the NIT prior to last night and McNeil would be playing a lot more than he is. Feel free to stick to that agenda of yours though.

Rome is a complete jackass. The sad part is there are plenty of idiots that enjoy that crap.

Being classless is now akin to being cool. sad, sad, sad, sad.

He was in because he is a better free throw shooter. He missed two at crunch time but the odds in apt hat situation were better with Malik. Has nothing to do with winning with his guy over Mav. I do think Mav has been a much better player down the stretch than Malik, but in that situation you go with the better ft shooter.
