I thought he would have been a prime target for either the Pitt or UConn jobs. I also thought he would be a candidate for the Maryland job. That was filled before he was technically fired, but I suspect he could see the writing on the wall.

I, too, would have really liked to see him land the Pitt job primarily for the return to play West Virginia.

Obviously you were wrong...again. He'll be playing golf for the next year and will be hired after another coach is canned after the 2011 season.

The talking heads on ESPN seem to think he was always a better fit coaching in the east. My personal opinion is that Pitt and Rich Rod would not be a good fit. Pitt would have to recruit players for a whole new system and that takes time. I see Rich Rod at a Conference USA-type school where he can have time to recruit and build.

After the year he's had, definitely don't blame him for taking a year off LOL

He should just return to WVU. He did good things with that program and were able to beat big time opponents.
