Per espn and several tweets.

Who will replace him. Harbaugh, Les Miles, Brady Hoke???????????????

Edit; and officially also.

I've never figured out why ADs and GMs sometimes do the "overnight" thing. Just man up and fire the guy if that is what you are going to do.

Nothing will ever compare to the Jerry Jones/Jimmy Johnson parting of the ways, which took about two or three days of face-to-face meetings, but I can't believe waiting a day to make it official accomplished much here.

Michigan will look like MN x1000 is they don't get Harbaugh and settle for Hoke. Rodriquez wasn't their first pick last time around. Michigan is going backwards fast and Harbaugh might be the only one that can save them.

$. They need to come up with the buyout money after he wouldn't resign. Also it sounds like there was the issue of possibly giving RichRod some money to compensate him for the personal money he paid toward his WVU buyout ($1.5 Million out of the $4 Million buyout).

I don't know why these schools think they can talk coaches into resigning.

I agree. If they thought Rodriguez was going to resign, they need their collective head examined. I guess what I'm saying is that if the decision has been made to let him go, they should have the financial ducks in line to get it done immediately. I realize that decisions surrounding coaching changes at big-time programs--both in the hiring and firing--have become much more complex, but this borders on the ridiculous.

Coaching changes have become insane, it's one giant circle of money. If the NCAA was able to effectively lead they would set guidelines for the entire process to help eliminate the money wasted each year.

Or they could let the schools/individuals be responsible for their own actions.

Is this a serious statement?

I think they had the same problem as the U and Maturi did. They let the word out to too many folks and underestimated how fast it would hit the media. They had a plan in place for how they preferred to break the news and didn't want to get away from it. Instead, they look silly and unprepared.

It sounds like in the Michigan case they met with him yesterday hoping he would resign. He didn't. Michigan then needs some time to get their ducks in a row to fire him and pay a buyout. Plus we don't know what sort of promises were made for the money RichRod personally put up towards his WVU buyout. Based on the cancelling/ rescheduling of the team meeting yesterday that Michigan didn't have much of a plan in place.

Nice to see the University of Minnesota isnt the only school with being unprepared and leaking information. ha.
