per Reusse:

Tuesday was the first time I had watched this remodeled Gophers' operation. The first thing I noticed was Mathieu being the smallest starter witnessed for the Gophers. The second was his quickness on the press, and in making his decisions to drive, pass or shoot.

Early on this season, Osenieks is starting at power forward, and he's shooting without restrictions or groans. He equaled his 2012-13 total with a pair of 3s in the season opener vs. Lehigh, and he made a couple more in the first half of Tuesday's 84-58 victory over Montana.

All in all, the first look at Richie-ball was pretty good.

I like the little guy, Mathieu, and Eliason and Osenieks have a different look when it comes to confidence, and Andre Hollins -- well, he's Hell on wheels, now more than ever.

Go Gophers!!

"Andre Hollins is another player who appears to love the Pitino system. There's no governor on his offense in his junior season: He can shoot from anywhere, without being required to look at the sideline to find out if that was OK.

He made three 3s early, including a no-conscience pull-up over a defender that might have drawn a yelp from the previous administration."

Care to elaborate? I don't really see anything wrong with anything he has written.

I'm pretty sure everything Bruce Kaupa says is heavy with sarcasm. It's probably a shot at the we hate Reusse crowd.

This doesn't change the fact that Reusse is a d-bag, but this is a nice article. I like his excitement about the team

Holy dry sarcasm, Batman! Thanks for the likely clarification, I need to work on my detection skills.

I wish these games were on tv so I could watch Mathieu play. This is the first time I haven't had season tickets in about a decade. It's frustrating not seeing the games.

Go buy a scalped ticket. There were a half dozen guys out with fists full last night.

That, or you could have watched the 3 non-televised games for $3.33 (repeating of course) a game.

What do dpo & his buddies have to do with Gophers or bball tickets?

I like how Reusse says DeAndre walked on... then was given his release. He's concerned about being correct... when convenient.

Nice write up on LNH. Were you in attendance? I figured you would be somewhere watching Marquette destroy Grambling. Marquette vs Ohio State, who you got?

Yep, I was at the Barn. Tried to see a few minutes of the MU game beforehand, but no luck. Have it DVR'd though.. 8 guys in double figures.

Will be tough to beat tOSU but hopefully the crowd and some of the freshmen can help get MU the win. The team's 20+ year bball play by play man Steve the Homer True was critically injured in a car accident this morning.. 10am, t-boned by a suspected drunk driver. Sounds extremely bad (head injury). Going to be a lot of heavy hearts at the game - I'd gladly take Homer being OK over an MU win, but am hoping for both.

Holy Kleenix, Batman! It was right under your nose and you blew it.

Not a bad write up. Reusse being excited makes me more excited, because as is well-documented on this board, he has no problem being negative if he doesn't think the team looks good.

Haha you know its funny because when he tweeted something along the lines of "all you gopher zealots out there who think there is any pressure on you about Reid not coming to Minnesota....well there is not. He's choosing Minnesota", I tweeted back saying "you know its funny you say that after Im pretty sure you were the one a while back saying we would go 0-3...so you're one to talk now...." and he replied "either youre 1)lying or 2) hallucinating. ". This guy just bothers me with his up and down mood changes and I completely agree that he will be the first guy that has no problem being negative if he doesn't think the team is good. Glad someone agrees here.

It's the job of any columnist to write positives if he sees positives and negatives if he sees negatives. You guys bash these guys too hard. They're not homers. They're not supposed to write "rah rah" articles except for the most egregious cases, like Penn St. Reusse is a good writer who is funny, but he's not always friendly to the Gophers. But he's always friendly to them as well. You guys have very thin skin. What columnist at a major newspaper is any good in any of your collective opinion? Are they all just trash? Should they all just go away? This is where the internet is awful. You guys get in your echo chamber and bash people like Reusse, but most people actually like him. In fact, he's generally very good at his job.

Now, if you want to go after Mr. Souhan. I will agree with you. He's a mediocre writer for the position he holds, and he goes way too far sometimes like in his Kill article.
