I agree not as colorful as in past times, but with media these days it seems like a smart move. One poor quote and you are featured on Sportscenter for the next two days and it proves a huge distraction for the entire team.
 

Its a much different era... with the internet and all... there is already significant "color" about the players, etc... its just not revealed in a press room after a game. Apples to oranges... Nothing wrong with pining for the old days from a Reusse's point of view.. but fact is, I believe its more about the era than Tubby.

Youtube clips by a suspended player, tweets from players, etc... fill in the gap, like it or not.
 

No mention of how the media has changed, always looking for the next big scandal? Why would any sane coach give the media free reign with the players these days?
 

Many players of this era are coddled sissy's... Players act tough and macho then a coach barks at them and gets in their a$s a bit then the next thing you no they are calling home and getting a U-Haul truck...

When you 20 years old a coach like Tubby might seem like a pr*ck. When they are 40 Tubby will seem much smarter.

Devoe your not NBA, your not Corey, Got to a program and go get your playing time and points good luck that seems to be the most important thing to you.
