per the Reporter Herald:

Stay the course. Trust the process.

Mitch Leidner knows. As a fifth-year senior starting at quarterback for Minnesota, he's traveled all the roads Colorado State true freshman quarterback Collin Hill may not yet be aware are even on the map.

A local product from Minnesota, Leidner has been labeled many things along the way. He played a bit as a redshirt freshman, giving Gopher fans hope. He has earned their trust and been doubted, hailed as well as having some ready to toss him aside.

Through it all, he's proven himself to be a steady influence in the huddle for Minnesota, a guy who keeps a run-oriented offense moving, doing his part with both his arm and his legs.

The numbers may not be electric when one takes a sweep across the college football landscape, but the Gophers aren't built to be flashy. They are built perfectly for the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Leidner, however.

"He's always taken the job very seriously, and I think he's done a tremendous job," said Minnesota coach Tracy Claeys, whose team hosts CSU on Saturday. "Every quarterback has a bad game every now and then or throws a bad ball every now and then, but overall, he's done everything he can to give him a chance and our team a chance to succeed every week. Sometimes when he's had problems, it wasn't his. Sometimes protection breaks down and things like that."
