Probably because the coaches told him that they didn't see him playing...

He seems to have been passed on the depth chart by a RB in the same class (Hall), they brought in two highly rated 2024 recruits the year (who both got carries and he did not) and the coaching staff likely told him that they will be bringing in portal player(s) at the position. In addition, the HC who recruited him is gone. The position coach, who was his main recruiter (Mike Hart) is gone.

Would be pretty neat to have the #1 and #2 RB’s from Michigan’s 2023 Recruiting class. Wonder if he’s talking to DT

Agree, but they do have Nubin who can probably give us what an okay experienced MAC rb can give us. I don’t mind going for a high upside inexperienced player at this position.

The transfer portal chaos is in full swing. On Wednesday, veteran running back Jordan Nubin became the latest Gophers player to announce his plans to enter.

Ah I must’ve missed that. Still I don’t think RB is a position where experience is quite as important compared to some other positions. Cabana and a couple other rbs on roster lack in game experience, but they aren’t true freshmen either. I certainly wouldn’t mind adding another experience rb though, wouldn’t be surprised if they add a couple, roster is fairly similar to last year when they added three.
