They backed in as a wild card team to be laughed out of New Orleans as 7 point dogs and a city going wild. A win happened there and then on to face the 11 point favorite and Joe Montana led 49ers. Won that too but it came to an end in Washington who won the Super Bowl. I know its not apples and oranges but I was a huge Vikes fan back then and felt like I do today about the Gophers. It only takes one guy to go freak like Anthony Carter did back then propelling them to two consecutive upset victories in the playoffs which is really going on now if your thinking Indy. Could it be Mitch, Cobb, Max, May or a bushel of turnovers to our D? Attitude is critical at Beirman right now and now is as good as any time to have a chance at visiting Lucas Oil field and a rematch with the Buckeyes.

That was the first playoff run I saw. It was a very fun few weeks.

I was on a month long geology study in the Virgin Islands for college. The Eve before leaving, I listened to the NO game on the radio in the athletic complex weight room (doing my work study job), and then watched the San Fran and Washington games on a fuzzy 20" TV in Cruz Bay on St. John USVI. My favorite Viking playoff run and the only one that didn't leave me angry at the team. If the Gophers make it to Indy, this run will be equally or more fun.
