Figured it'd be nice to have a more streamlined thread looking back at the last game and the regular season as a whole.

From my perspective, yesterday stung. It hurt a lot, there was a lot on the line with the Axe, the series lead, the division title outright, the title game and a Rose Bowl berth. I would gladly go 10-2 and swap the wins over Penn State and another team for victories over Iowa and Wisconsin. It sucks that we lost to them.

However, this season was still a great ride. Going from week-to-week, winning so many games, it was a lot of fun. Smashed Nebraska in the Chair game, the take down of Penn State, having Game Day here and yeah a share of the division title. Again, I'd much rather win it out right, but this team generated a lot of wins.

Over the past 10 years of being a Gophers fan, there have been so many streaks and records that have been broken. So many "since 1960s, since 1940s, since 1904." Despite the loss, the program is in a good spot today, better than it has been in a while.

What's even better, is the whole season isn't over yet. Minnesota will still likely play in a New Years Day game, something that we all know has been rare. This team can end the season with 11 wins, that's really impressive.

You know what other teams went 11-2? 2012 and 2013 Clemson. And we know where they're at now. Fleck is recruiting well, players are buying in, this can be the start of a very enjoyable era for Minnesota.

Honestly, it says a lot about how much Fleck is changing the culture and expectations around Minnesota football when we have fans who are disappointed with a 10 win season. In fact, we SHOULD expect our team to be perennial contenders for the division, and the occasional conference title would be incredible.

But, make no mistake, our rebuild is well-ahead of schedule. We’ve landed on the national radar for the first time in decades. We’ve got a coach who many of us believe will take us to the next level. While I’m disappointed we couldn’t get it done against Iowa and Wisconsin, I’ve never been prouder to be a Gopher fan. Ski-U-Mah!
