I think it was a thin defensive end from around here who decommitted to Wisconsin. Brewster was very upset with him. What was his name? Is he playing much? I dont think i saw him in the starting lineup.

Beau Allen

from below link;
2010: Made one tackle against Northwestern on Nov. 27 ... posted three tackles at Michigan on Nov. 20 ... career-high four tackles against Indiana on Nov. 13 ... made one tackle at Purdue on Nov. 6 and at Iowa on Oct. 23 ... collected two tackles in win over No. 1 Ohio State on Oct. 16 ... recorded one tackle against Minnesota on Oct. 9 ... played against Michigan State on Oct. 2, Austin Peay on Sept. 25 and Arizona State on Sept. 18 ... recorded first tackle of career against San Jose State on Sept. 11 ... made Badger debut as a defensive tackle at UNLV on Sept. 4

Jayeyem is correct, Allen was always pretty negative on The U.

Jay Valai almost committed to the Gophers back in 2006. JJ Watt was going to commit until Mason was fired. David Gilreath was also committed to Minnesota. Some pretty good players that ended up at the worst possible place.

Wasn't Nortmann one of them too? I could have sworn he switched from us to Wisconsin.

Wasn't there some Wisconsin kid K-something who committed (wiskey trolls said they had cooled on him) only to de-commit to the badgers (then the trolls came back to say how great of a player he was)? what the hell was his name.

Brendan Kelly from Holy Angels.

Kelly was going to have a nice career. He played some as a true freshman but then he got hurt. I think it was his back. His career is over.

Yeah, Brad Nortmann did too. He is the punter. A small tidbit, I worked a football camp with him at UWRF and of course me being a Gopher Rube had to ask him about it. He said it was nothing against the U, actually really liked the school, team, coaches, etc, but at the end of the day Wisconsin was his homestate team and he couldn't imagine leaving home. I told him I could respect that. He was a great kid, very smart and polite.

Thanks! I knew it was a real common name like Konrad Zagzebski...

Brendan Kelly was the player Brewster was angry about, but JJ Watt was a Gopher commit who then went to Central Mich for one year before enrolling at Wisconsin.
