Saw this on the Scout board and thought I would repost it here.

Don't know anything about this one. I wouldn't think there would be many flying under the radar that the coaching staff wouldn't know about. Never know I guess.

I am a graduate assistant with the Forest Lake Rangers High School basketball team, and there is a player on this team that I think that Tubby really needs to take a look at. His name is Zach Riedeman. I know most people have never heard of him and he is not being heavilly recruited, but I expect coaches to start keeping there eye on him soon. He averaged just shy of 20 points per game last year in a tough Suburban East Conference, including a 43 point performance against Cretin Derham Hall. Tonight, in the Rangers season opener, he went for 37 against Coon Rapids. He's a 6'6" 195lb. wing player who can run the point if necessary. He's a floor leader, and can take over a game at any point. Please Tubby, if you see this, send out an assistant to see this kid play. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Never heard of a graduate assistant on a high school team.

Also, let's not try to give this type of info too much publicity. It's great that someone is promoting their player, but if this sets a precedent, every assistant coach, their mom, brother and cousin is going to jump on here and post about how Tubby should look at their player/friend/son.

Seen him play multiple times last year... Good HS player that will probably be a good D3 or possibly D2 player... D1, at the BT level nonethelss, is ridiculous. Also, Grad Assistant on a HS team? Never heard of that either....

Kinda' reminds me of when as a lass I attended Jim Dutcher Camp. At the end of camp, Dutch talked to all the campers and opened it up for questions. A kid asked Dutch why he didn't recruit a kid from Washburn (think his name was Gilchrist), the kid excitedly told Dutch that Gilchrist(?) could dunk.

Dutch, in his pleasant, mild manner, just looked at the kid and said politely, "A lot of kids can dunk."

In this case, it's a safe bet "graduate assistant" = parent of said player.

The Gophers need blue-chippers, not "under the radar" talent from the Suburban East.
