Pretty interesting....but it makes sense with the talent leaving and the development seen in those players since they arrived.

I can hardly wait for this thread to head to an argument over which coaching staff deserves more credit. Both can deserve credit for it. But that is just MHO.

From the article- "When a fiery coach like Fleck comes in preaching culture change and building a brand new foundation, that usually leads to a lot of roster attrition for classes like these. The Gophers’ players and coaches deserve a ton of credit, then, for what they’ve built together because this class really only had two departures after Fleck took over (and one was Drew Hmielewski, who opted to focus on baseball)."

Thanks for posting. Interesting LSU and tOSU are that low but at least no mention of the red dinks to the east.

Won't post the article because it is a pay site (bit the bullet and subscribed due to great things I have heard about the Athletic content). But for those non subscribers here is the criteria they used for the rerank.

5 points: All-American, award winner, top-50 NFL draft pick
4: Multiyear starter, all-conference honors
3: One-year starter or key reserve
2: Career backup
0: Left the program, minor or no contribution

Looks like this is the third year they have done this. Didn't make top 25 in 2014 or 2015 but easy to see why the 2016 class would do really well in a rerank like this. Will be interesting to see how future years do as well. Very few misses in that 2016 group.
