Recruiting Related: Texas has 19 verbals for '10 class

They do this every year. They have a junior day where they give out all of the offers for the in state players and then they sit around for the next month as the commitments come in. It's absolutely sick and the ease at which they do it is the envy of every other program in the country. Most of the athletes have been coming to the Texas summer football camps since they were in 7th grade so the coaches and players are well acquianted and in essence they've been recruiting them since Junior High. Brewster was a part of making that happen at Texas so hopefully we can one day have something similar here. We don't have enough D-I players in Minnesota to fill out our entire class but it sure would be nice to know that we have Henderson, Allen, Gjere, Okuyemi, Edwards and Starr already committed by March 1.

Wasn't Nolan Brewster their only non-Texas commit last year?

Well, since Texas has well more than 19 D-1 players, that Texas does this is a good thing for everyone else, since they don't have to really compete against them for the rest of Texas athletes.

As the other poster said, I sure wish the MN kids would do this.

Any of the top 5 MN kids bleed maroon and gold like Mr. Sam Maresh does?

Texas does seem to do this every year, but this year it's just on another level. I don't think we've ever had this many commits this early. Almost every one of them was offered by Oklahoma or A&M, which is nice.

And I do think the early Texas recruiting success helps Minnesota.

I also think you'll see Brewster implement this in-state base strategy as well. There's already proof he's doing it with last year's class. Y'all are in good hands, and it's fun to watch Brewster work his magic with a new stadium and a winning record.
