I hope this is used in recruiting.

Minnesota is one of the few cities in the Big Ten that one can fly non-stop from their home area. A big plus for family and even themselves when making a short week-end trip back home.

Michigan is fairly close to Detroit and Columbus may have a few non stops, Northwestern can claim O'Hara but the rest will in just about every case require a change of planes.

Take for example the running back from Broward County (Fort Lauderdale) Florida coming up on his official trip for the Air Force Game. Nice non-stop service between Fort Lauderdale and Mpls.
What type of schedule would he have between Fort Lauderdale and Oregon. I hate to think about it.

On the flipside.......

How many family budgets can save for 5 sets of roundtrip tickets to MSP? I would think an awful lot of them would save up for a single trip. Then, switching planes becomes less significant.

For location purposes and recruiting, once it turns into an 8+ hour car drive, I personally don't think it's going to matter all that much.

Perhaps Rog wrote that article about college football finances for ESPN a while back. :D

Airplane flights

I heard that it is a real bitch to fly into the Penn State campus!
Is that in College Park or something like that?
Just wondering.

It's in State College. And yes, it's a huge pain in the butt to fly there!
